The following poem is an ode to those emergency service personnel who volunteer to be Disaster Victim Identification Officers (DVI). I have worked with this group of specialist role for a number of years following national and international major traumatic events such as terrorist attacks, plane crashes, road traffic collisions and building fires. They never fail to inspire me with their professionalism and victim focus.
